XSProject is an Indonesian non profit organization based in the city of Jakarta, which works to improve the lives of the trash pickers and their families, by providing them with critical necessities, such as education, healthcare and life skills
Our goal is to break the generational cycle of thinking that picking trash is their only option, by providing new opportunities for their children.
How do we do that? By transforming trash into usable products.
XSProject buys plastic consumer waste from the trash pickers to help them get extra income.
We also seek donations of waste from companies, asking them to send us things like reclaimed billboards and other unused materials.
The waste is then transformed into products.
Through unique design, we explore new possibilities of recycling to give useless waste a new life.
XSProject then extends the life of the unwanted waste by turning it into good quality and functional products
To date, XSProject has redirected and used more than 50 tons of trash that were destined for the garbage dump, produced and sold over 100.000 products engaged 600+ people in the collection of trash, and the production of our goods and provided a 12 years education and other services to more than 100 trash pickers children
